Ingrid Siegert and Tim Puckett

Ingrid Siegert is a professional musician in Atlanta, Georgia, and has been an amateur astronomer since the age of 8. She has been part of the Puckett Observatory supernova search team since 1998, and is married to Tim Puckett.

Tim Puckett is a 30-year veteran amateur astronomer and astrophotographer. A pioneer in the field of amateur CCD (digital) astro-imaging, Tim has owned and operated numerous CCD cameras since 1989. He has built several

robotic telescopes and is currently operating an automated supernova search patrol and comet astrometry program with 60-cm and 35-cm telescopes. To date, Tim has discovered 206 supernovae.

Tim’s photos of comets and deep-sky objects have been published in books and magazines in seventeen countries, and he is the co-author of The Art and Science of CCD Astronomy. His work has also been featured on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CNN, BBC, The Discovery and Learning Channels and Good Morning America.

Tim currently operates the Puckett Observatory in North Georgia, and is the Astronomy Sales Engineer for Apogee Instruments (builders of CCD cameras). He also works as a robotic-telescope consultant to several professional observatories.
